The NASP® 300 Club: The Perfect Score

When NASP® began in 2002, most thought that a perfect score of 300 was impossible. Students in grades 4 – 12 shooting bare bows from 10 meters and 15 meters trying to hit a spot the size of a tennis ball 30 times in a row. There have been a few students to hit that elusive mark. This page is to recognize their success.  Congratulations for mastering the eleven steps to archery success!

Since this feat is becoming more frequent, NASP® has created a formal process to recognize an archer who shoots a score of 300 in a NASP® event.  To be considered the event must meet the following criteria:

  1. The event/tournament must be listed on the nasptournaments.org website (can be listed as a NASP Pro listing (preferred) or a FREE save the date listing).
  2. The event/tournament must be a land-based tournament and follow the 10/15 meter format.
  3. There must be at least 2 schools competing that DO NOT SHARE COACHES.
  4. There must be a minimum of 75 archers participating in the event.
  5. The archers must be randomly assigned to targets (the coaches and archers cannot decide shooting partners)
  6. Must use the official NASP range setup and rules (including shooting and scoring protocols)
  7. Must use official paper faces and official scorecards to make sure the proper scoring protocol is followed.
  8. Range officials must be adults and non-students
  9. A range official can supervise no more than 5 targets
  10. The 2 archers at the target must be from different schools that do not share coaching staff
    1. If both archers at the target are from the same school or from schools that share coaching staff, the range official MUST come from an unrelated school and must directly oversee the scoring
    2. If there is only one archer at a target the range official MUST come from an unrelated school and must directly oversee the scoring.

If the event meets all these criteria, the archer’s coach can complete 300 Score Verification Form and submit it to NASP® for consideration.
